Denotation and Connotation

Denotation- refers to the literal meaning of a word, the 'dictionary definition'.¨
Connotation- refers to the associations that are connected to a certain word or the emotional suggestions related to that word. The connotative meanings of a word exist together with the denotative meanings.

Denotation-The surface level meaning of a word, what it actually means e.g Dove- White Bird

Blockbuster- This is generally a term for a very Successful or profitable film that is made. They are usually high budget, and make a lot of money.

Above the line-This refers to a group of people who have a major infulence on the films makig directing,casting director,actor and screen writer.

Below the line costs-Thus refers to a group of people who are invloved in the every day running of the buisness
